American Honda Plant
- Warehouse/Flex Space, Gresham, Oregon
Overview
The Honda facility is quite large, with 168,000 sq. feet in warehouse
space, 18,000 sq. feet in office areas and a 25,000 sq. foot training
center for educating certified Honda mechanics.
Details
The building is equipped with the latest energy saving technology,
using energy efficient light fixtures with motion sensors and dimming
control systems that sense the natural daylight and adjust the lighting
level accordingly.
Comments
The American Honda plant is on track to receive the first Leadership
in Energy and Environmental (LEED) Gold rating for an industrial
building in the United States.
Peterkort Centre II
- Office/Retail, Portland, Oregon
Overview
The Peterkort complex is a 6-story office building containing 156,000
sq. feet of future tenant space, a 2-story parking structure with
72,000 sq. feet of vehicle space and 120,000 sq. feet of open area
parking.
Details
This was a full scale electrical development project that included
upgrading the primary power source in conjunction with installation
of a myriad of both indoor and outdoor lighting systems. The building
utilizes a computerized lighting control system and is outfitted
with fire & life safety, area of rescue assistance and building
security systems. We also installed the telephone and data backbone
for the entire complex.
Cornell West Office Building
- Office/Retail, Beaverton, Oregon
Overview
Cornell West is a 120,000 square foot, 3 story Class A office building.
Details
Designed for maximum electrical efficiency, safety and security
with flexibility to accommodate any size tenant. Cornell West has
a 3000 amp 277/480 volt service, protected with a Transient voltage
surge suppressor. A Lithonia lighting system with sentry switches
controls energy efficient lighting. A UPS with ninety minutes of
battery backup is provided for emergency egress lighting. A card
access system was installed at the main entrance.

Capitol Electric was contracted to design & build the electrical,
security and life safety systems as a turnkey package.
Electro Scientific, Inc.
- Industrial/ Institutional Space, Portland, Oregon
Overview
E.S.I. building number four is a 62,000 sq. ft. class A office building
housing E.S.I.'s world headquarters. The campus consists of four
buildings including open parking.
Details
Building number four is a new three-story building consisting of
indirect light harvesting fixtures and controls. The lighting control
integrates emergency power, fire alarm, security, time of day controls
and sensors with a computer and telephone interface. Installation
of utilities, site lighting and interconnection of buildings involved
extensive coordination with contractors, owners and utilities companies.
We have installed new electrical distribution throughout the site
and within new and existing buildings.
Comments
In addition to 60-hertz systems, we have installed systems that
include converters to 50 hertz with voltages of 120, 240, 277, 360,
and 480v with connections for laser testing and manufacturing of
equipment for shipping throughout the world.
