Skilled, Trained Electricians
Capitol Electric employs field crews
who are members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers,
Local 48. Each electrician completes an extensive Apprenticeship
and Journeyman Training Program at the Metro Electrical Training Center,
and continues taking upgrading courses to stay up to date on the
latest technology and new code changes. Our people's skill and expertise
assure our customers that they are getting top quality work that
only experience and intensive training can offer.

ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN TEAM
Darrell McNeel – President & CEO
Darrell is an industry leader with 35 years of experience in Electrical
Construction and Management. His Electrical Licensing includes a
State of Washington Master Electrician's License and an Oregon Supervisors
License. Over the last seventeen years Darrell has completed numerous
Electrical Design Build projects in the Oregon and Southwest Washington
areas. His project experience includes multi-level Office Buildings,
Medical Facilities, Manufacturing Plants, Commercial Retails Buildings,
Grocery Stores, Tilt-up flex space and many interior improvement
projects.
Richard Martin – Senior Vice President Capitol Electric
During Richard's 35 years of experience to the Electrical Construction
Industry his involvement has been focused on the electrical design,
estimating, project management and installation aspects of the electrical
trade. His extensive background in the Electrical Construction Industry
includes supervisor licenses in Oregon, IBEW/NECA
apprenticeship certificate and continued electrical education certificates.
Jim Eddington
– Vice President
Jim has been in the electrical industry for the past 28 years. His experience
has involved private, state and government agencies in the safe and
successful completion of many projects in the electrical industry.
Jim specializes in industrial facilities, production facilities and the hi-tech industry. His clients include Rockwell International, Nike and ESI to name a few.
John Uhl
– Senior Estimator & Project Manager
With 24 years of experience in the electrical and construction industry, John
knows what it takes to get projects done right. John's experience
includes supervision and scheduling of field crew, estimating and
project management. He has TRF estimating system certification,
IBEW/NECA Forman's certification, First aid/CPR training and is
a licensed general journeyman in both Washington and Oregon. John has managed many large commercial electrical projects in the metropolitan area.
Mike Quinonez
– Estimator & Project Manager
Mike has 23 years experience with a successful career in Electrical Construction and Management. He has completed numerous Electrical Design Build projects in the Oregon and Southwest Washington area over the last 17 years. His project experience includes multi-level Office Buildings, Medical facilities, Manufacturing Plants, Commercial Retail Buildings, Grocery stores, Tilt-up flex space and many interior improvement projects.
John McNeel
– Estimator & Project Manager
John has 9 years of experience in our industry he holds an Oregon and Washington General Journeyman’s license. His estimating experience ranges from small TI’s to large distribution facilities and is trained in TRF estimating software. Safety is a prime concern for all of our Project Managers and John is no exception as he holds an OSHA 30 safety certificate.
Mike Schmader – Estimator & Project Manager
With 20 years of Electrical experience, Mike brings a combination of Tenant improvement and service oriented skills to the Capitol Electric team. Mike is OSHA 30 certified and holds an IBEW/NECA Forman's certification, First aid/CPR training and is a licensed general journeyman in both Washington and Oregon. Mike has Estimated and managed various commercial electrical projects in the metropolitan area.
Kent Gorman – Estimator & Project Manager
As the manager of Capitol Electric's Cad Drafting and Design Department, Kent works closely with
Capitol's project managers and clients to ensure that all projects are completed on time and with the
utmost quality. Kent is focused on not just meeting, but exceeding the customer's expectations. He has
been in the design and drafting field for over 15 years and has earned an Associate degree in Drafting
Technology from Clackamas Community College. Throughout his career, Kent has gained knowledge and
experience working on commercial projects, residential projects, healthcare facilities, semiconductor
manufacturing plants, and telecommunication projects. Growing up in the Great Northwest, Kent enjoys
fishing, skiing, hiking and hunting.
LIGHTING AND ENERGY SERVICES
Gary Steiert
– Service Manager
With over 20 years experience in the electrical field, Gary knows
how to keep projects moving smoothly. His background includes four
years with Capitol Electric as the service manager and ten years
experience as a manufacturing plant engineer. Gary coordinates customer
service issues from answering questions and solving problems to
estimating projects and scheduling technicians. Gary is well respected with the Oregon Energy Trust and is a leader in Lighting Retrofits and Green Construction.
Kristin McGill – Estimator, Project Manager & Energy Specialist
With over 20 years experience in the electrical and energy services arena, Kristin knows how to provide projects that make sense to your bottom line. Her background includes over 15 years of electrical project management along with six years of manufacturer and distribution experience. She works with customers to understand their needs and adapt each project to each individual customer. Kristin provides energy audit and design services in addition to estimating, project management and implementation.
AUTOMATION SOLUTIONS
John Scharosch – Automation Control Specialist
John is a skilled professional with over 24 years of experience in the Electrical and Industrial Controls Industry. He is internationally certified through the International Society of Automation as a Certified Control Systems Technician and currently carries a General Journeyman's License in Oregon and Washington. With extensive experience in Industrial Process Control, Analytical Instrument Calibration, Programmable Controllers, Mod Bus Power Metering, and Robotic Integration . John is responsible for managing various automation and control projects and coordinating with a number of testing laboratories to certify control panels to U.L. 508A standards.
DATA & COMMUNICATION
Greg Harmon – Estimator & Project Manager
With over 30 years of experience in housing, construction, finance and property management Greg's vast and diverse background serves as a tremendous asset to Capitol Data & Communications clients. His experience in commercial build-outs and commercial leasing helps him understand what a customer is going through during a move, relocation or expansion. That expertise gives Greg the ability to recognize each customer's needs and recommend data and voice solutions ideally suited to any situation.
Terry Brasch – Estimator & Project Manager
Terry's 19 plus years of experience in the Telecommunications Industry includes a background in Sales, Operations, Management, Project Management, Design, Estimating, and Customer relations. Terry is a licensed Limited Energy Journeyman and is certified in many Cable Solutions. Terry also brings an in depth knowledge of Fiber Optics, Copper and Wireless for Data transmission to any project.
TELEPHONE SYSTEMS & SOLUTIONS
Shane Medbery – Estimator and Project Manager
Shane has been in the low voltage industry for 17 years specializing in audio/video distribution, automation, access control, security, and phone systems. He has owned a home theater company, worked as a sales manager for numerous manufacturers, and has spent 4 years in international sales. Shane is focusing on the "Total Office Solution" for Capitol – this includes, but is not limited to: Phone systems, surveillance, and access control.
FIRE & LIFE SAFETY
Dan Wilson – Manager Fire & Life Safety
Dan is a skilled professional with over 31 years experience in the
electrical industry. His past experience ranges from supervising
complex communications systems installations to the installation
and troubleshooting of industrial process controls, commercial HVAC
controls, and fire/ life safety systems. Dan is responsible for
providing bid estimates, system design, submittal packages, coordination
with local jurisdictions, system final acceptance testing &
documentation, management of field personnel, technical guidance
and equipment purchasing. He holds General Journeyman licenses in
Oregon & Washington, NICET Level 4 certified. Dan is respected in the industry for his fire alarm design and installations. He holds manufacturers certifications for fire alarm
systems from Silent Knight and FCI, Fire Control Instruments.
